UX research and design for a website for finding apartments to buy or rent.
The product

The project aimed to design a user-friendly and engaging website that would help potential buyers and renters find their ideal apartments.

Project duration

July 2023

The problem

The problem I tried to solve during the design process was the uncomfortable feelings of users at such important moments in their lives, such as the search for a new home for them and their families. Users struggled with the low-quality search and filter options, which consumed a lot of time and were nowhere near the feeling of joy and excitement.

The goal

The aim of the project was to create solutions that would enable people to conveniently acquire the knowledge they need to make an informed and satisfactory purchase, review the available offers and obtain the necessary information to take further steps.

My role & responsibilities

UX designer & researcher – user research, wireframing, prototyping.

User research

Potential users can be assigned to two groups: those looking for a place to rent and those buying their own property. Both groups are adults, with diverse backgrounds, employment and family or roommate groups.

Users were identified through interviews with people from both sides: tenants/buyers and owners.

Digital wireframes

The aim of making wireframes was to find a website structure that would accommodate the required information and allow users to quickly access and use the data.

High-fidelity design

Usability study

The unmoderated research was conducted remotely, worldwide on group of 10 participants in the time of 30-45 minutes.

Usability study showed, that users liked the idea of resume builder, but asked for more features. All of their suggestions were implemented in next versions of design. Findings included insights:

  • more filter options needed,
  • add an option of adding an announcement.
Accessibility considerations

Color contrast was checked and passed the WCAG requirements.

Screens are simple and clean, easy to use for users with assistive technology, such as those with limited mobility or visual impairments.

Every interactive element has a negative space around it to prevent accidental clicks.

Impact

During the usability test some users said, that they would certainly be using this website, if only it was available.

What I learned

I learned a lot about UX design in general. I think the most important thing is that the user can always point out something about the design that the professionals have not thought of.

Next steps
  • Further usability test and design changes.
  • Adding more functions, such as import of existing documents.
  • Design a Mobile app.

The product

Mobile app for one-time and recurring orders at Florist. Target users are teenagers and adults, who buy bouquets for any occasion and with every frequency.

Project duration

April – June 2023

The problem

Users who buy flowers struggle with the problems of seasonal variation of flower types and long time to complete the order on site. Customers interested in recurring orders also need a lot of time and effort to buy flowers repeatedly.

The goal

To make ordering flowers a simple, time-saving and stress-free experience.

My role & responsibilities

UX designer & researcher – user research, wireframing, prototyping.

User research

User research was conducted in the aim to find users problems, needs, behaviours and motivations. The participants of the interviews were adults from two customer’s groups: who buys flowers occasionally and those who makes recurring orders.

Research showed that users struggle with the problems of seasonal variation of flower types and long time to complete the order on site. Customers interested in recurring orders also need a lot of time and effort to buy flowers repeatedly.

Digital wireframes

Paper wireframes were created as the first design step for the app. Then, there were tested on users and transformed into the digital ones.

High-fidelity design

Usability study

The moderated research was conducted on site, in Poland, on group of 5 participants in the time of 15-30 minutes.

Usability study showed, that users liked the idea of florist app, but asked or need some changes in design. All of their suggestions were implemented in next versions of design. Findings included insights:

  • date picker and image carousels were confusing,
  • date picker was confusing,
  • more complex order settings are wanted,
  • some components needed replacement.
Accessibility considerations

Color contrast was checked and passed the WCAG requirements.

The product

The aim of the project is to help find a dream job, especially for the fresh graduates and experienced workes, who might have problems with completing recruitment process via computer. This contain a mobile app for creating documents and a landing page.

The problem

There is currently a growing problem of economic hardship in my local community. More and more people are experiencing difficulties in finding work. This problem particularly affects people who are inexperienced in the labour market and those with a few years of experience but no computer skills.

The goal

The aim is to make the job search easier by creating solutions to facilitate the completion of documents and assist in the recruitment process, with mobile devices replacing the computer.

My role & responsibilities

UX designer & researcher – user research, wireframing, prototyping.

User research

The target group consists of inexperienced employees (recent graduates) and employees with several years of experience but no computer skills.

Users were identified through interviews with jobseekers and recruiters.

Digital wireframes

My goal was to create resume builder accessible on mobile devices – users liked the idea, but asked for more features. All of their suggestions were implemented in next versions of design.

Orchestrating house construction is hard. Many future house owners’ problems can be avoided when proper plan and budget are made.

Baid Group created an app to leverage architects’ knowledge through curated construction plan, budget management, and note-taking.

Research

The project started with various activities performed by the business team:

  • business analysis (problem statement),
  • market research,
  • customer discovery.

Specification

After a few brainstorming sessions with Product Owner (Joanna Zasadni-Pawełczak) we came up with:

  • product specification,
  • experiments to solve users’ problems,
  • customer journey.
Low-fidelity wireframing

The last element of product specification were application wireframes, including:

  • authorization,
  • user onboarding,
  • user profile,
  • list of todo tasks,
  • notes,
  • cost management,
  • calendar,
  • reminder.

All screens were combined in responsive prototypes and user-tested. They were further refined with high-fidelity concepts.

Release

Baid App was published and is free to download for Android and iOS.
